MANILA, Philippines--Four Filipino films have made it as entries in this year’s Montreal World Film Festival, ongoing until Sept. 6 in Canada. Leading the RP films in the lineup is Danny Añonuevo’s “Rekrut” which is vying for the top prize in the First Film Competition. Another Cinemalaya entry, Joel Lamangan’s “Sigwa,” is included in the Focus on World Cinema section, along with Chito Roño’s “Emir” and Raymond Red’s “Himpapawid.” A Filipino-Canadian, Kathleen Santiago Jayme, has an entry, “Little Big Kid,” in the Student Film section.
